What is "Login with Google"?

When you you register or log in to our site, you can choose to do so with your Google account. Here are some frequently asked questions (and their answers!) about this:

What are the advantages of logging in with Google?

There are three main advantages to logging in with your Google account:

1. You do not have verify your email address by entering a code we send you,
2. You do not have to remember a separate email address and password for our site.
3. It is faster to register and log in because you do not need to enter your email address and password (you just click a button).

If I already have a user account, can I still log in with Google?

Yes, but there is a caveat. If the email address you used to register on our site is the same as your Google email address, then you can simply click on the "Log in with Google" button on our login page. Our site will recognize your email address and log you in to your account accordingly.

If the email address you used to register on our site is different than your Google email address, however, then clicking on the "Log in with Google" button will create an entirely new account for you.

What if I want to stop logging in with Google?

You can just log in using another method (such as password, passkey, or magic link). If you originally signed up using your Google account, you may not have a password set up. That is easy to rectify, though, by simply using our password reset form.

To completely disconnect our site from your Google account, you can follow these basic steps:

1. Go to your Google Account at myaccount.google.com and sign in.
2. Select Security & sign-in (in the left menu, or the Security tab on mobile).
3. Scroll to Your linked apps and select See all linked apps.
4. Select our site from the list and select See details.
5. Select Stop using Sign in with Google, then Confirm.
