Articles FAQ
What are article quizzes?
These modules consist of a research article and a quiz to test comprehension. A passing score on the quiz is required to earn a certificate of completion.
How do article quizzes work?
First, you will be required to spend a specified amount of time reading the article. Reading time is calculated from the article’s length using evidence-based average reading speeds. A countdown timer in the navigation bar will show you how much reading time is remaining before you can mark the "Read Article" lesson complete:

After you've read the article and the countdown timer has expired, you can mark the "Read Article" lesson complete and advance to the quiz. A passing score on the quiz is required to earn a certificate of completion, but unlimited quiz attempts are provided. After you pass the quiz, you will be able to mark the "Take Quiz" lesson complete and download your certificate of completion immediately.

How long are the quizzes?
The length of an article quiz varies by article. The longer and more complex an article is, the longer its quiz will be.
Can I retake the quiz if I don't pass the first time?
Yes. You have unlimited attempts to retake the quiz, but you won't receive the exact same questions each time. Questions are randomly drawn from a pool of questions for each quiz attempt.
Will I have access to the article while taking the quiz?
Yes, the article will also be embedded below the quiz so that you can reference it as needed.
How can I know how long the required reading time for an article quiz is before I purchase it?
On the product page for an article quiz, visit the "Additional information" tab. You will see "Reading Time" listed there for every article quiz.
How long will I have to complete an article quiz?
Article quizzes are entirely self-paced and you can take as long as you wish to complete them (although there is a minimum amount of time you must spend reading the article). Your date of completion will be based on when you pass the quiz.
